Who to ask

Christopher G. Taskey is responsible for personal information collected through this website. For questions, or to see or correct what I hold about you, contact:

What I collect and why

The contact form asks for your name, email, phone number (optional) and your message. The estate information form asks about the person who died, their family, their will, and what they owned and owed. Neither asks for Social Insurance Numbers, health card numbers or full account numbers.

I use what you send only to reply to you, to check for conflicts of interest, to understand your matter and, if you become a client, to do the work. I don’t sell it or share it with anyone else unless the law requires it or you ask me to.

The web server keeps standard logs, such as IP addresses, for security and to stop spam.

Where it’s kept and for how long

The website is hosted on a server in Canada. Form messages go by email to me.

Enquiries that don’t become files are kept only as long as needed to reply. Client files are kept as long as the Law Society of Alberta and the law require. I use reasonable security measures for the sensitivity of the information.

Some pages can load Google advertising measurement tools, but only if you accept them in the cookie banner. If you decline, nothing is loaded, and you can change your choice at any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of those pages.

Your choices

You can ask to see or correct your personal information. I reply within 45 days. If you aren’t satisfied with my answer, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.

Sending a form doesn’t make you a client, and the pages on this website are general information about Alberta law, not legal advice for your situation.
